Opening at Pure Evil Gallery on 6 November, RECLAIM brings together new paintings and drawings exploring fear, grief and the experiences that shape our sense of self
Welsh contemporary artist Caitlin Flood-Molyneux will unveil RECLAIM, a new solo exhibition at Pure Evil Gallery in Shoreditch, London, on Friday 6 November 2026.
Through painting and drawing, the exhibition explores what it means to take ownership of experiences that once felt overwhelming. Fear, grief, mental health and memory become starting points for a body of work concerned with acceptance, strength and a changing relationship with the past.
Returning to familiar imagery and recurring personal symbols, Flood-Molyneux revisits these experiences from a different perspective. Across the collection, images that once carried difficult associations become a means of finding new meaning and a greater sense of control.
RECLAIM considers how the past can remain part of our lives while its influence changes, allowing experiences that once held power over us to become sources of understanding and strength.
Flood-Molyneux says: “Reclaim is a really personal exhibition for me. It’s about taking back parts of my life that I felt defined me for so long, whether that’s my experiences with mental health, grief or the challenges I’ve faced along the way. I wanted to make this body of work now because I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m starting to look at those experiences differently. Rather than letting them define who I am, I want to reclaim them as part of my story and recognise how far I’ve come.”
Raised in a working-class background in Wales, Flood-Molyneux draws on personal experiences in a practice exploring memory, identity, love and loss. Her work has reached collectors worldwide, with exhibitions across the UK and internationally, including presentations at Christie’s and Sotheby’s in London.
Her work has featured in publications including the Financial Times, It’s Nice That, Variety and GQ. In 2024, she was shortlisted for Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe, followed by recognition as Visual Artist of the Year at the KLAT Awards in 2025. Alongside collaborations across art, fashion and design, Flood-Molyneux advocates for creativity and mental health. Earlier this year, she delivered a TEDx talk at the Senedd in Cardiff, sharing her personal experiences and the role art has played in her life.
RECLAIM opens at Pure Evil Gallery, 108 Leonard Street, Shoreditch, London, EC2A 4XS, on Friday 6 November 2026, with an opening evening from 6–9pm. The exhibition runs until Monday 16 November 2026. Admission details and opening tickets: https://bit.ly/4zBa5aS
