Renaissance Hotels Unveils New Cocktail Rituals and Cultural Experiences Across Asia Pacific

From Bangkok’s flower markets to Phuket’s traditional tea-making communities, Renaissance Hotels is inviting travellers to discover the region after dark through locally inspired drinks, creative collaborations and immersive cultural experiences

Renaissance Hotels is bringing a fresh perspective to evenings across Asia Pacific, introducing a new collection of beverage rituals designed to connect travellers with the flavours, traditions and stories that define each destination.

Launching as part of Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026, the collection has been developed in collaboration with award-winning Indonesian bartender Demitria “Demi” Dana Paramita, founder of HATS Bar Jakarta. Drawing on her Sumatran heritage and experience across Southeast Asia’s bar scene, Demi has reimagined familiar ingredients and cultural traditions through a contemporary lens, creating drinks that offer a taste of local life.

The initiative forms part of Renaissance Hotels’ Evenings at Renaissance experience, which encourages guests to explore their surroundings beyond conventional sightseeing. From local markets and neighbourhood makers to regional culinary traditions, the programme celebrates the people and places that give each destination its character.

This year’s Renaissance Day of Discovery, themed Layers of Discovery, takes place across participating hotels in Asia Pacific, excluding China, throughout October and November.

A New Way to Discover Local Flavours

At the heart of the collection are distinctive beverage rituals designed to mark the transition from day to evening, creating opportunities for connection and discovery.

Highlights include Blooming Flower, an interactive floral punch featuring a shared citrus jelly ritual; The Night Market, a vibrant combination of pandan, calamansi and tamarind inspired by the energy of neighbourhoods after dark; and Silk Road, an aromatic blend of tea, saffron and spices celebrating the exchange of flavours across cultures.

Other creations include Tropical Silk, layered with passion fruit, lychee and tea, and Remedy, inspired by traditional recipes associated with comfort and care. These drinks will continue to feature at participating hotels beyond the launch celebrations, offering guests an ongoing opportunity to experience the collection.

Four Thai Destinations, Four Distinctive Experiences

Thailand takes centre stage, with four Renaissance properties offering individual programmes that combine local exploration, cultural encounters and evening celebrations.

At Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, Unfold Bangkok takes place on 31 October 2026. Guests can join guided walks to Bang Mod Gardens, Yodpiman Flower Market and Pak Khlong Talat Market before returning to R Bar for four new beverage rituals inspired by the capital’s celebrated flower markets. The selection includes cocktails and non-alcoholic punch creations.

For those seeking a coastal escape, Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa presents Beyond the Horizon on 1 and 2 November. The two-day experience explores the Bangsaray coastal community and Thai Thani cultural village, with hands-on workshops offering insight into local traditions. Back at the resort, a sunset celebration featuring a fire dance performance and live music sets the tone for an evening by the sea. The following morning brings an alms-giving ceremony, yoga and a recycling workshop.

Meanwhile, Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa invites guests to explore the island’s creative heritage through Craft & Culture on 1 November. The itinerary includes Wat Sila Ngu, Guan Yu Shrine, Samui Handicraft OTOP Place and House of Lucie, a gallery dedicated to photography, art and independent storytelling. A coconut-crafting demonstration offers a closer look at local craftsmanship, while the evening continues at the resort’s Lotus Room with locally inspired drinks, street-food collaborations and live music.

At Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, Discover Phuket’s Hidden Gem runs from 7 to 8 November. Moving beyond the island’s beaches, the experience introduces guests to the community surrounding Asam Gelugur Kamala, a treasured local ingredient also known as som-khwai. Visitors can meet farmers and learn about traditional tea-making, alongside a revitalising punch-bowl ritual, a visit to a Phuket market and an introduction to Nang Talung, the traditional shadow-puppetry art of Southern Thailand.

Travel Beyond the Expected

With its new beverage collection, Renaissance Hotels is placing local culture at the centre of the guest experience, transforming an evening drink into an invitation to discover somewhere new.

Whether exploring Bangkok’s flower markets, learning traditional crafts on Koh Samui or meeting farmers in Phuket, travellers can expect experiences that go beyond the usual holiday itinerary.

For those looking to connect more deeply with Thailand and the wider Asia Pacific region, these new rituals offer another reason to venture out, meet local communities and discover the stories behind the destination.
